Silvanus Forest Retreat

Ravi and Shailesh made the stay especially welcoming with their warm, attentive service. The rooms were spacious, clean and carefully maintained, and each meal was fresh, flavourful and well prepared. Silvanus Forest Retreat, Alibaug sits among lush greenery, with a peaceful atmosphere that made for a refreshing break from the city. It felt like a relaxing, premium stay, and we'd love to return. Highly recommended for anyone wanting comfort and good service in nature.

The food was the one bright spot. It tasted good and the portions were enough. Everything else disappointed me, and I wouldn't recommend this resort. We booked a forest-view room, but there was no view. The room itself was basic and dirty, with dirty bedsheets and pillows. Network coverage was very poor indoors and the Wi-Fi barely worked, so we had to go outside for a signal. There was also a large corporate event with around 150-200 people when we arrived. They seemed to get priority, and the resort was crowded and noisy. We couldn't relax or enjoy any peace. If they're hosting events that large, they shouldn't take regular guests at the same time. Check-in was late, too. This place is extremely overhyped and not worth the money.

The place is green and full of flowers, which gave it a very pleasant feel. We had a cozy stay in a private villa with a pool, and the rooms were spacious. The restaurant food, though, may be hard to find good and tasty.

The location was nice, with Revdanda beach and fort reachable by road. The private pool was also well maintained. Beyond that, this was only a fine experience, and the upkeep needs much more attention. The photos the staff show don't match what they actually provide, and there are many better properties nearby. Visiting before booking seems like the best option right now. I had high expectations for our 2 N stay in Silvanus's flagship “premium forest suite with private pool,” but the beautiful room was badly maintained. Thick cobwebs were on the floor, and the furniture looked neglected. The sofa cum bed in the loving room was faded, dirty and in degraded condition, with large amounts of dust underneath. The blanket for sleeping on it after converting it to a bed was disgraceful for the room and the price. The walls needed whitewashing, and the bathroom tiles and walls were dirty. For their top stay, as they call it, it definitely wasn't worth what I paid. The food tasted good, but at breakfast I found dry food stuck to plates that hadn't been properly cleaned. The vista restaurant was poorly maintained too, and its chairs were dirty and unhygienic. Please don't order chicken dum biryani here, it was an insult to biryani.
