Hotel Pragati

The hotel service was very bad, and so was the staff.

We only stayed one night, and the price was very cheap. The location is good and the bathrooms were clean, but the rooms need maintenance and the cupboards are very old. The support staff and reception were okay.

The washroom was in a dilapidated state, with no showers or toiletries. The building is quite old and shows physical damage all the way from the lobby. We booked a deluxe room, but when we asked about it, they said there wasn't one 😂🙄. They usually sell the room for 900 bucks but charged us INR 1200, then said they couldn't refund us because we'd paid online. The stay was the worst experience and an absolute waste of money 🫠.

The reception person was very accommodating and helped us check in early. That was probably the only good part of the hotel. The property is poorly maintained, and apart from reception the staff weren't very customer oriented. Our room was damp and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke from the last occupants, whose cigarette butts were still in the bin. The towels were old and didn't seem clean, and the washroom had cobwebs and a dirty mirror. There have to be better places to stay in Rudrapur.
