Hotel Sri BalaKrishna

We didn't end up renting a room, but the way we were treated was enough to leave this review. We got to Salem at 4:15 a.m. and called ahead. The attendant confirmed rooms were available and told us the rate, then asked us to speak with the person in charge at the desk. When we arrived, that person was asleep on the couch and wouldn't wake up despite repeated calls. Even the attendant tried, without success. Refusing service like that hurts both the business and its reputation. The management should know this happened on 17 Nov 2018.

The room was decent, but there was no hot water or drinking water, and they didn't clean it daily. Power was out for nearly three days, with no alternative provided. The two people at reception were rude and showed no respect. Worse, one of them took my money; when I asked him about it, he started arguing with me. I'd suggest spending even 100/- more somewhere else and avoiding this hotel.

A solid budget place, with reasonable rates, good food, and underground parking. A non-AC double room costs 700, while an AC room is 950. Each extra person costs 200 in a non-AC room or 250 in an AC room.

I've used the conference halls, not stayed in the rooms. The hotel is in a prime spot near Salem central bus stand, and the car parking is good. They do need to get the mosquito problem under control.
