At The Mandarin, Hotel Niki Sambalpur, the food we ordered was tasty, nicely prepared, and came in a satisfying portion. The menu listed plenty of choices, though several weren't available and we had to pick from a much smaller selection. They should list only dishes they can actually serve.

The location is great, close to Gole bazar and Samaleswari temple, and the spacious room looked just like the picture, with modern amenities. But the hotel service was pathetic. Room service took hours, and staff didn't fix the lack of running hot water in the bathroom despite repeated requests. The restaurant food is quite expensive, and there's no parking inside the premises, so people arriving by car have to leave it on the road in front.

The food was pretty good and service was good, in a prime location. Our first room smelled of smoke. After we complained, they offered a move, and the next room was comparatively better. If you're in Sambalpur, try the restaurant once.

The location is excellent, though the rooms could use improvement, especially the camels. Renovating the hotel would make the stay better.

It's in a great spot in the city centre, but the hotel needs improvement. There's no parking, the room service and morning buffet were poor, and the corridor was filthy. The ventilation AHU wasn't working properly, and the bathroom exhaust fan was damaged.
