This was my second visit in three years, and it was a real letdown. The towels smelled bad, were badly stained, and seemed worn down to the point of having no cushion left. The garbage bins hadn’t been cleaned, and I saw a rat on the roof above our bed. Furniture and toilet fittings were broken too. The property needs renovation. From what the workers told me, the owner doesn’t seem to care. Saffronstay, we paid a premium and expect the experience to match. Please address these problems or remove the property from your listing.

The pool is on the small side, but works for a small group, and the river view and sunsets are beautiful. Saffron stays Mango Huts has two houses, so you can choose based on your family or group size. It’s easy to reach by car using maps, with lush greenery all around and a well-planned, maintained setup. The rooms were clean and tidy. There’s a shared dining area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the food was tasty with choices to suit your taste.

The river stream behind the farm was soothing, and I imagine the area would be lovely in monsoon. There are a couple of places to sit among the greenery and a small open court for badminton. At night, though, there are lots of insects and mosquitoes, so you may not want to stay outside. It’s a farm, so be prepared. We booked one night for nine people through saffronstays. Finding the interior location may take local help, especially at night. Take the khopoli exit just after khalapur toll plaza. The seven-acre farm has two villas, a dining room, and one shared pool that felt small for a large group. The water was murky. The villas were spacious and clean but missing some basics: a mirror in each room, a fridge, and a hair dryer. A 32-inch TV looked small on such a large wall. The dining room needs AC because it gets very humid. Food was okay, but hygiene and cleanliness could be better, especially with both veg and non-veg served. There’s nothing available nearby, and you have to travel 10 km for provisions. It’s a good place for a group of friends, but may not suit families with kids.

A lovely time surrounded by nature. The staff were polite and looked after everything we needed.

The cottages were spotlessly clean and well looked after. We spent a restorative long weekend at Mango Huts with friends, about three hours from Mumbai, amid green hills and waterfalls. Mayuri, mama, and the rest of the staff were wonderful and treated us like family. They even asked what dishes we liked and made them for us.
