The Whey Side

The bathroom had no geyser, and when we asked for hot water they brought only half a bucket. That seemed strange. The meal tasted disgusting, the service was poor and the kitchen was unclean. The owner was unpleasant and impolite from the start. This was my most recent experience at the property, and the worst one. I wouldn’t choose it for a staycation, and I suspect the positive reviews people have posted may be paid.

The homemade food was fresh and absolutely delicious, and the host was welcoming and made sure we had what we needed. The resort feels premium, with thoughtful touches that help you connect with nature. We had an unforgettable stay at Whey Side, with gorgeous views and peaceful surroundings. A great place for a relaxing nature break.

The observation deck has a fantastic view of the valley and river, and the local meals were a real culinary treat. The rooms felt refreshing, with their white billowing curtains and a setup like a multi-star resort. It was still a work in progress when I visited, but I’d love to see the finished project. The rustic setting felt more therapeutic than a typical weekend hangout, especially compared with the standard fly-by-night resorts around the area. A refreshing experience.

The host and staff gave excellent service and went out of their way to help. I was very pleased with how they looked after me. The resort had the great view and value for money I was looking for, and it’s a lovely place for couples or families. It’s pet-friendly too.
