Hotel Sangla Retreat

At about 9 PM we were left waiting in the cold and dark, with aged parents and our luggage, after being told to walk up a steep, slippery hill. We’d booked a stay in Sangla, and only the day before were told that, despite the booking showing as confirmed, there was no room because of a software glitch. The hotel cancelled it and offered a homestay. Since we’d paid well in advance and it was peak season, cancelling wasn’t a practical option, so we agreed because we had little choice. On the way to the location, staff were very rude on the phone and said our Innova Crysta couldn’t reach the property. After we asked repeatedly, they arranged a small cab and charged an excessive amount. A terrible experience and an unfortunate lesson. Visitors should be cautious when booking this hotel.
