We were the only guests during our two-day stay, and the rooms on the first floor seemed barely used, with pigeon droppings scattered across the floor. The property badly needs repairs, and management, service, and facilities were all poor. It may be the only place to stay if you want to spend the night in Ratnagiri, but staying in Cuttack and taking a day trip to Ratnagiri would be better.

The restaurant is right beside the hills, and its entrance offers a glimpse of Asoka's transformation story. We ordered for 20 people and the food arrived quickly. It was really good, and the prices seemed best compared with the options here. They serve meals in traditional metal (Kansa) dishes, and the placemats have fruit suggestions based on your zodiac sign, which kept us busy while we waited. It's the only place to eat within walking distance of Ratnagiri, with no similar nearby alternative. A must if you're visiting, and a good spot to enjoy a meal during your trip.

After walking around the beautiful Ratnagiri monastery, this is a great place to stop if you're hungry, with some of the best food around. The staff were nice too. Depending on your budget, it might feel reasonably priced or costly.

A good vehicle and an explorer's mindset can make a vacation here memorable. The resort is well placed and decorated extensively to make the stay comfortable. It works well as a weekend getaway for visiting Paradeep port and beach, and for exploring the lesser-known hill area of chandikhol. You could consider it the best of the ancient Buddhist circuit in Orissa.
