Kath Kuni Cafe & Stay Shangarh

I spent 35 days at kathkuni after coming to Shangarh hoping for some solitude and time away from noise and routine. I didn’t expect the place to feel so welcoming. Kathkuni and the people there made being alone feel more like belonging. Grateful to have had a home away from home. Kudos to Ayush, aman and varun. You couldn’t ask for better hosts.

The hosts made me feel at home straight away, and that’s what really stayed with me. Ayush, Aman, Varun and Kunal were incredible. Kunal, thanks for helping me on my first hike :)) It’s a cold place, but it warmed my heart. The views are beautiful, the rooms cozy, and the food was amazing. Try their ramen and chicken momos! I can’t wait to come back, panjtara meri taraf se.

The staff, Kunal, Varun, Aayush and Aman, made the stay feel special with their warmth and attention. They were accommodating, tailored experiences to guests’ needs, and made sure we were comfortable. The fresh, carefully prepared food was another highlight, and every meal felt like a treat. I spent my days trekking across meadows and hiking up quiet peaks, with amazing views and a peaceful valley all around. At night the sky was clear and full of stars, and the silence made stargazing especially memorable. The traditional architecture fit beautifully into the landscape, and I felt the magic of the place as soon as I arrived. I left refreshed and grateful, already looking forward to returning to Kathkuni in Shangarh.

The snow-covered setting was quiet, but the people made the stay feel warm. Punit deserves a special mention for his attention, kindness, and genuine care. Amanpreet and Ayush coordinated things smoothly, from weather updates before I arrived to help with transport and an easy send-off. At KathKuni Cafe and Stay, the thoughtful hospitality really stood out in such a secluded, snowbound spot.
