I booked three rooms for my family and relatives after calling directly and explaining what kind of setup I needed. They helped me choose: two rooms had queen beds, and the third was a suite. Breakfast is included from 8 in the morning, and if you need to leave earlier, they’ll do their best to get it ready in time. It’s one of the better budget hotels around, just a few minutes’ walk from hotel Polo Towers. Absolutely fantastic.
The staff deserve full marks, they were genuinely friendly and supportive. The guest house itself was a big disappointment, though. The property it sits in felt very shady, and the linens were yellowish. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially since there are better options for the same price. I only stayed because I’d already paid in advance. To me, it should cost around Rs 500-600.
I was satisfied with the service, and the owner was really courteous. They even brought us a mattress without us having to ask. For Shillong, this is the best budget hotel you can get. I’d say go for it when you visit.
The best part was how the staff treated us, they were good. The rooms were decent and had TV connections, though the outside didn’t look as nice as the pictures. There was no food service when we booked, so we had to go out at night in the cold. It’s near Polo bajar, one of Shillong’s busiest spots.
The rooms are spacious and well kept, and the staff are friendly. It’s about a ten-minute walk from PB, and cabs are easy to find. They provide lodging and complimentary breakfast, but no other meals. Finding the place can be a bit tricky. It’s on the third floor, with no elevator, so you have to use the stairs. That may not work well for older people or anyone with arthritis.
