Blueberry Inn

We only stayed one night, so it was a quick visit, but we got a good feel for the staff, food, and films. The receptionists and staff were helpful and polite. We had to leave early for the double decker root bridge, and they packed us an early breakfast when we asked. There was more than enough food. Not many hotels make that kind of effort. Glad we stayed here.

The rooms are spacious and nice, but the bed in mine was very uncomfortable. I was there for one night on a packaged tour. Dinner soup wasn’t good, and I couldn’t finish it. Breakfast was limited and not very flavorful either. The main issue for me was the lack of hot water. Staff tried to fix it, but it never got sorted. In Shillong in May, with the high humidity, a hot shower in the morning or at day’s end is a basic need for me. I wouldn’t come back.

The room was cozy, and the interiors were beautifully decorated with touches of the region’s tradition and culture. I stayed two days in an economy room at Blueberry Inn. It’s close to Ward’s Lake, though Police Bazar is farther away. You can’t see the lake from the room because trees cover the area. The food was well prepared and balanced in taste, and the staff were courteous, attentive, and professional. The second day’s buffet breakfast had a good range, though I missed South Indian options. The hotel offers good value for money and a high standard of hospitality.

The manager made sure we got the different room we’d requested for our next stay, as promised. The staff were courteous and helpful, and breakfast had a good selection with tasty food. The rooms were clean, although a little old-fashioned. The location is convenient, with easy access to the market.
