The tents get freezing, so renting a hostel dorm or family dorm is a better idea. Our blankets didn't keep out the cold, and we had to pile them up to stay warm. The food was overpriced and the staff service wasn't up to the mark, though I rate the land and living arrangements 9/10 for their vibe and ambiance. The living areas and restrooms are quite good. Food needs to be taken to your tent by 10-10:30, when the restaurant closes. Reception closes at 11:30, and after that there isn't a staff member around if you need anything. The doors stay open after staff leave, so even if you arrive late, you can get in and sleep in a hostel dorm, then check in the morning. We spent one day here during our 8-day Meghalaya trip. It's on the highway from Shillong to Cherapunji, and we chose it because it was closer to Laitlum Canyon for our planned sunrise visit to the canyon viewpoint. It's a bit outside Shillong city, so the rates were reasonable. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There are a few huts and a dining area in the garden, along with dorms. Parking is available, and they accept digital UPI payments.

After a day of hiking and travel, this was a nice place to come back to and unwind. The other bunkmates were great to meet, with plenty of trip stories, and sharing the hostel with ten like-minded people made it easy to settle in. There were events too. The wooden interior looked neat, the beds were lined up in a way that felt comfortable, and the mattress and linen were very clean. They do a required cleaning session every day from noon to 4 pm, and the no-shoes rule helps keep things tidy. The basic amenities were a welcome change after nights in villages. It was cold enough that we went straight under the quilts when we arrived. We were glad we stayed here instead of booking in Shillong City. Our first night there was awful because the streets were so crowded. This hostel is about 20 km outside the city, and getting there is easy enough unless it’s late and you’re counting on taxis. It’s a good fit for younger travelers looking for quiet and a peaceful base in Meghalaya.

The staff were kind and accommodating, even though we arrived quite late and left early the next morning. We only stayed one night on our way back to Shillong, but it was probably one of the best places we stayed during our Meghalaya trip. The rooms were clean and kept in good shape, and the property and grounds inside the compound were lovely to look at for the price. Definitely recommended.
