OYO 4740 White Orchid

The service was good and the washrooms were nice, but I don’t think it’s worth the money. The rooms were clean, though there was no fan or AC. They’ll provide a rotating fan for an extra charge, and there’s no electricity backup. The WiFi doesn’t work. There’s a farm nearby, so a rooster starts waking you at 3 AM and keeps crowing until 9 AM every day.

The room itself was good, but our double room for three people with an extra bed wasn’t up to the mark. There was hardly any space for that bed, which was placed almost against the bathroom. Finding the entrance is a bit tricky, so watch for the left turn off the main road. For the complimentary breakfast, the options were Maggi and parota. It felt like we had to beg for choices, though it was otherwise a cool place.

The food was very good, and the guest house was clean and well looked after. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. I stayed as an RBI guest in November 2016, and the rooms were spacious enough. I’d happily recommend it to visitors.

The owner was helpful when he arrived that evening: he moved me to room 103, which had a lovely window and proper ventilation, and arranged breakfast in my room the next morning. Before that, I’d been checked into room 104, a tiny, dark room with one small window and no ventilation or fan. Closing the curtains made it completely dark. The receptionist was unfriendly, seemed uncomfortable speaking Hindi or English, and refused room service because there was no restaurant. I was ready to cancel the next day’s reservation and find somewhere else. Room 103 was much better, as shown in the pictures I’m attaching. I didn’t take any pictures of the first room. Also, the same place was much cheaper on MMT than OYO, so compare prices on both before booking.
