The location is quite a walk from Police Bazar (PB), about 20 minutes past a deserted stretch and a lake. I'd avoid coming back late at night. They advertise 24-hour power, but there's no power or backup at night and in the morning. If you need a warm bath before an early start, forget it until power comes back after 7am. There is no restaurant. Dinner can only be ordered at their time, not yours, and they get it from some roadside shop, then charge for packing and other service. Breakfast was no better: a boy knocked and rudely asked whether I wanted bread omelet or cornflakes. When I asked for bread and butter, I was told there was no butter, only bread. I skipped the complimentary breakfast after the first day. Better to eat out, as there are some good restaurants in Police Bazar. The room smelled bad everywhere, ventilation was poor, and hardly any light came in, so it felt like living in a cave. There were broken holders and fungus all over the ceiling. The bathroom smelled awful too, had no ventilation or proper cleaning, and the basin was blocked and the WC broken. Nobody came to clean the room or change the sheets and towels, and toiletries weren't supplied every day. There was no room service at all. This OYO room needs to shut down. The place doesn't justify even a quarter of its rate, and it feels like they're fooling people and taking their money. The rooms are old and badly maintained. The price seemed much too high for what was provided. If you book online, they simply refuse to give you a GST bill. I'd avoid this hotel. There are many cheaper hotels around Police Bazar with better service.

I stayed one night and found the place quite clean and tidy. I didn't need room service, but the services I did get were good. I'd recommend staying here when traveling to Shillong.

The noise made it hard to relax or sleep. The walls are thin, so sounds from outside and neighboring rooms carry easily. I also found the price a bit high for the quality and facilities. There were some good points: the location is central and convenient for getting to nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops, and the staff were friendly and polite when I had questions. But the rooms weren't clean enough, the bedding and linens looked worn and not fresh, and the broken fixtures and outdated furniture affected comfort. There isn't much in the way of amenities. No restaurant or proper dining area makes meals inconvenient if you want to eat on site, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable when needed for work or communication. OYO Live Inn Guest House in Shillong has potential, but these issues need attention to make the stay comfortable. My experience was mixed, and I'd give it 2 out of 5.

The owner can arrange taxis, and I negotiated a good deal with him for Guwahati airport. Cleanliness was decent, but the room quality was average. The windows weren't fully sealed, so the room got a little cold. I didn't try the food, and the TV had very few channels.
