OYO Flagship 71585 El-nosa Home Stay

Our reservation was for the room we'd booked, but when we arrived at night we found it had been given to someone else. Check-in time was in the morning, yet we were left waiting a long time. The rooms we eventually saw were very dirty, with no hygiene or housekeeping, and after 9 pm there was no staff around to answer questions. The staff seemed to have forgotten all about customer service and responsibility. The promised complimentary breakfast was awful, apparently sourced from somewhere outside, and there wasn't even a way to order morning tea. It took a full day to get an extra mattress, and we were simply told to adjust. At checkout, we shared these problems with the manager, who said he could have recommended another place when we checked in. What a ridiculous response. I strongly don't recommend this for family or friends. Don't be fooled by the photos or other biased reviews. Unfortunately, we were tricked into staying here.

We had a comfortable stay, with bright, spacious rooms and staff who were helpful all the time. The room cleaning was especially good, and I enjoyed the open terrace, whether to sit in the sunshine or have a quiet evening. It can be tricky to find a shared cab or taxi from this location. The homestay can arrange a reserved taxi, but that costs more than a shared one. There aren't good restaurants nearby, though you can order lunch or dinner on Swiggy, with delivery taking around an hour or longer. Dylan's cafe is nearby, but it opens after 11:30 am and doesn't serve lunch or dinner, despite what Google says. I know because I experienced it firsthand. I wish each room had an electric kettle for warm water without having to ask staff repeatedly. That's a basic need in the hills. Breakfast would also help, since there are no restaurants or cafes open early, before 10:30-11 am, and we can't use Swiggy then. Otherwise, all is okay.

The staff were so helpful and generous with their time, and the room was clean and pleasant in a great location. Really missing you guys, especially Brother SIMON 😂 Thanks for making our visit to Shillong that much better. Above all, May God be with you all,Brothers ❤️

I paid in full online for three deluxe rooms and had the booking confirmed. When I got there, the manager told me the rooms weren't available. Oyo never let me know, not by call, message, or email. A terrible experience.
