Our visit to cherapunjie was memorable, but staying at Hotel Mi Casa was the worst part of the trip. Paying the full amount in advance was my first mistake. Then the intercoms in all three rooms we booked didn't work, so we had to keep going to the desk because there were no waiters on our floor. The service was so poor it felt like they were doing us a favor for free. The receptionist seemed clueless and unhelpful. When we asked for someone responsible to assist us, we were told the lady owner had just arrived, taken our advance payment, and gone underground or something. After we got back from dinner at a decent restaurant, we were told there'd be no lights from 12 to 4 am and there was no backup facility. Our money and stay felt like a waste. The hotel seemed badly and dishonestly managed, and should be avoided.

The manager was arrogant, and the time maintenance and service were the worst. On the good side, the hotel was clean, the food tasted good, and the lock system was modern, using cards instead of keys.

I was shocked to hear that one guest's luggage couldn't be traced for over an hour, and it seemed like nearly every guest had plenty of complaints. There were only four or five staff at the hotel. There's no room service at all, and guests have to carry their own luggage. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
