Hotel Acropolis

I took my family out for dinner and honestly didn't realize we needed a reservation in advance. When we arrived, I explained that we hadn't booked and asked the waiter if he could fit us in somehow. He told us to check the small seating area. When I went over, he had the audacity to ask what I was doing there and say the whole place was reserved. If he'd said that earlier, I wouldn't have gone in. It was so embarrassing and completely uncalled for. I had no bad intentions, but the staff need proper guidance because they reflect the establishment's hospitality. Khublei Shibun.

The view is great and the place is good. It doesn't feel fair to judge a restaurant on a busy day like New Year's or a festival, though. Staff were overworked today, and hopefully service would be faster and better on an ordinary day. Maybe the food is better then too.

Watching Shillong city in the evening was superb, and the scenic setting and ambience were breathtaking. The food and drinks were the best, with a wide choice of starters and beverages. You can ask for something to be made and they'll provide exactly what you requested. Our experience was better than at any other restaurant in Shillong.

The food was really high quality, and the staff were courteous and well trained. Service felt smooth and welcoming. A great place to stay and dine.
