Hotel Royal Residency

Worst experience, the service was third class. I booked a 2k room, but there was no water in the basin and no soap. The windows were broken, and there were long hairs in the blanket. I bet the blankets hadn't even been washed, they were almost black and super dirty at the edges. During my three-day stay, there was no room service while we were out. When I asked why they didn't clean it on their own, the manager said they wouldn't do it unless we asked. The TV and remote were problematic too.

Please don't stay here, it's really bad. I was already staying at the hotel when I booked two rooms for friends coming from guwahati. I told the manager they'd arrive around 10-11pm, since they'd left guwahati at about 8 by taxi. They were new to Shillong and, when they reached the junction of Police bazar, asked me to come out to the road. I asked the staff to open the gate/shutter, but they refused. My friends had to search for the hotel and only got in once they reached the gate.

The hotel was totally empty, but we heard different kinds of noises and disturbances coming from a side where there were no people. We couldn't sleep there. It felt totally haunted, so don't go to this hotel.

The geyser didn't work, even in winter, and there was no heater or electric boiler in a room costing Rs. 2,500. When I asked for hot water, the kid who works with the manager/main attendant said, "not everything as you want you get," as if I'd asked for something extraordinary. Nobody came to do room service even once during my two-day stay. Worst hotel service.
