Orange Homestay

The rooms were clean and great, and the staff were warm and polite. The in-house restaurant could use some improvement, and the property is a little off the main area. Shared taxis are available if you wait 15-20 minutes, and the fares are cheap and negotiable.

The terrace is a big garden with lovely local flowering plants, and in winter the hotel feels peaceful, like a nice getaway for locals and tourists alike. I met some amazing people here. It's also a good base for Laitlum Canyon and Shillong peak point. The room was clean and spacious, the food fresh and delicious, and the staff, including Dakhani, were hospitable and professional.

The rooftop was beautifully decorated with lots of plants, and the staff were supportive. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. There's always hot water in the bathroom, and every room has an electric kettle with tea supplies. The downside was breakfast: the buffet food ran out early, and the quality was below standard.

The rooms were kept very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We had a lovely time at Orange Homestay and would like to come back. I'd just suggest paying a bit more attention to maintenance so everything stays in top shape.
