I really hated this place, especially in winter. The rooms were terribly dirty and weren’t cleaned properly. They had no blanket when I asked, and wouldn’t give me a heater either, and I caught a cold because of that. At night there was no security around and the hotel’s main gate was left open, so anybody could enter. The rules they’ve written down aren’t followed either. For what they charge, you can find a better hotel. I’d ask people not to stay here.

We booked a villa-style place for a family of four at Whispering Pines in Shillong, Meghalaya. It cost ₹2500 per night and had one bathroom. There was one double bed, one single bed and two sofas for sleeping. Free Wi-Fi was available. The guest house was peaceful, and the overall ambience was really nice and relaxing.

This didn’t feel like a place for families, and the caretaker, Mr.Putul, wasn’t professional. He promised me a rate of 2000/- per room, then collected 2500/-.

The stay, food and service were excellent. It’s right opposite Jitbhumi, and the place is managed by Chhetri ji, who was courteous and helpful.
