The food was good and the staff were courteous, but getting to the hotel is a real hassle. It's high up on a hill, where four-wheeler drivers often hesitate to go, and taxi drivers charge much more for the trip. From the road or drop-off point, you still have to walk uphill and climb stairs for 300 metres.

Our Family Suite had a wonderful mountain view and plenty of space, though the rooms felt a bit old. Service was very good. There isn't an in-house restaurant, but they can bring food from the hotel next door to your room. Shimla Ridge and Mall Road are a 2-3 minute walk downhill.

The view here is beautiful, and the staff are always nice. Amar Palace has felt like my second home during the two years I lived in Himachal. I come back when I have exams or want to relax in Shimla, and I've usually enjoyed the food and the comfort. Lately, though, both the food quality and portions have gone downhill. Please keep them up, because I still try to stay here whenever I get the chance to visit Shimla.

The mountain view from the balcony was lovely, and the quiet surroundings added to the stay. My room was cozy, with the basic amenities I needed, and the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Hotel Amar Palace is close to Mall Road, and it was a comfortable, budget-friendly place to stay in Shimla.

The room was better than I expected, and the staff at Amar palace were super friendly. The food was good too. It's within walking distance of Mall Road and just 200m from church of Christ. The hotel can arrange a taxi if you need one. A premium experience, and special thanks to the staff!
