The Grand Madhushala Shimla

The food was delicious, the staff were very polite, and the location was good. I enjoyed my stay last week and will stay here again if I come back to Shimla.

Service was extremely poor, despite the very high charges. Nothing seemed to be available, and the staff were rude and unwilling to cooperate. People are treated like dogs here. The staff only seem interested in money, and their behavior feels inhumane. Don't stay here.

The hotel seems to favor offline bookings over reservations through online portals.

The room was freezing during our stay over Christmas, and the heater was no help because the rooms weren’t insulated properly. They wanted ₹500 per day for it, on top of the roughly ₹13,000 I’d already paid for two nights for three people. As soon as I entered the room, staff told me the heater, which was the AC’s heat setting, would cost extra. They insisted the hotel website and MakeMyTrip both said so, but when I asked for proof, they switched the heater on. Service was poor too. We got just one water bottle each day, and staff never brought it without being asked. At checkout they tried to bill me for every bottle except the one already in the room when we arrived. I had to argue about that as well to avoid being overcharged. I don’t think this place is worth staying at. Pay a little more for somewhere with more reviews or a known hotel brand.
