I'm still working online in Silchar and expect to be here for ages, but I don't plan to give Cachar any more money. I'd recommend staying at Borail instead. I'm happy to pay 4000 a night, and I'm here another week, so come say hello at Borail ;) Here's what happened at this place. I'm a foreigner, and I'll be completely honest: the rooms are nice and the location is good. I booked two nights but stayed three, and ran up an 8,500 bill at the bar and restaurant. I wanted to pay right away, but they said it was no problem to pay later. I think that was to overcharge me. At midnight on the third night, they came to my room with a card machine and told me I had to move. I said I didn't want to. They said I'd paid for a better room, at 4000 for one night, but I had to pack up and shift to a much worse, smaller room. They just wanted my double room for another booking.

Hotel Cachar Club is in a convenient part of the city, and the staff were very helpful and courteous. My room was clean and well maintained, and I had a very pleasant stay. Sanchiayeeta, Ratan Das, and Chinmay gave especially great service.

We found Cachar Club clean, calm, and dependable, and would happily recommend it to other travellers. The location made it easy to get around Silchar while still feeling secure and comfortable. On one of our two separate two-night stays during a trip through North-East India, a wedding made the property busy, but the parking was managed smoothly. We used both the attached and external parking spaces, which was handy with our own car. The rooms were comfortable, peaceful, clean, and well maintained, a good place to relax after long driving days. Hot water was ample and consistent, with no problems. Breakfast was generous, fresh, and varied, though I'd skip the idlis.

The food was fresh and tasty, and the service was fairly quick. Staff were polite, helpful, and ready to assist with a smile. The hotel is conveniently located near major attractions and transport, and the surroundings are quiet, tidy, and clean. Rooms are spacious, well maintained, and have the basic amenities. It's a well-managed, hygienic place that suits families and solo travellers. A few improvements to room service timing would make the stay perfect.

Silchar town is right outside, and this may be the best hotel to stay at around this part of Assam. The rooms are well appointed, and the staff are courteous enough to make you feel at home. Breakfast is included. The spread isn't very lavish, but it's fine to start the day.
