Hotel View Point

The thali was my favorite, and all the pure vegetarian food I tried was very good, even though the choices were limited. View point Hotel also felt exceptionally clean, and the staff were lovely. Faisal at reception was especially helpful, the owner clearly keeps things well run, and even the truckers I met at this restaurant stop were exceptionally polite. There were silence notices on the walls, and people followed them. I’d booked through Agoda a few weeks earlier while traveling around South India, and arriving here was a real delight. I’m from Scotland and don’t usually write reviews, but after four months traveling, this was one of the best places I stayed. It’s around 11 km from the caves, which wasn’t a problem for me. Exceptional value for money. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful visit.

There’s car parking, and they fitted five guests into one room with ample space. The rooms are clean and the AC worked fine. Try bargaining before you book. I’d prefer mineral water, since the tap water is often hard.

The setting is surrounded by farms and natural habitat, so expect plenty of insects in and around the hotel. There can be power outages, though an emergency lamp is provided in the room and bathroom. The room itself wasn’t that great, but the nearby location makes this a good option. The front desk staff were really friendly and explained the area and the best time to get to the caves.

There’s a little departmental shop on site with the essentials, and in the morning you might spot a bunch of white pegions, which are lovely to look at. The front balcony has a great view, and the inside courtyard adds a special touch to the place. It’s a very reasonable, homely place to stay. The staff are quick and efficient, the vegetarian food is good quality, and both the room and bathroom were clean and fresh.
