Palmgrove Residency

The spacious balcony had a really nice scenic view, but the room itself was very unhygienic. The bed was extremely hard, and I found two cockroaches. Water pressure was low, and the overhead shower seemed to be on a long vacation.

The food and service were amazing. It was a lovely place to stay. Thanks, Rommel, for making the stay so good. Hats off for the warm hospitality and for arranging things at short notice. We felt blessed and right at home. Cheers 🍻

The only good thing was how polite the reception staff were. We booked three rooms for one night, but when we arrived, nobody was at reception. We waited ten minutes for someone to come and check us in. I think the hotel is at least 30 years old because everything looked outdated. They gave us keys for two rooms, but the third had no lock from the outside, only from inside. Whenever we went out, we had to move our luggage from that room to another. The balcony was filthy, with garbage all over and empty beer and liquor tins on the floor. They'd locked the balcony door instead of cleaning it. There were no blankets, and the pillows smelled really bad. We'd planned to spend our last day in South Goa there, but chose this hotel by mistake and it ruined our mood. There was no TV, no WiFi, and nothing else for entertainment.

The staff were helpful and did what they could to make things work. This wasn't their fault. The hotel itself was dreadful, though. The OYO booking system was a mess, so I'd avoid using it if possible. The rooms were terrible: the mattress and bathroom were awful, the taps didn't work properly, the water couldn't be mixed, there was blood on the wall, and it was noisy. If you have a choice, stay somewhere else.
