Palolem Casa

The rooms and grounds were poorly maintained, and the place was extremely unhygienic. The staff also came across as unprofessional. We had booked three days through MakeMyTrip, but what we found on arrival was nowhere near the photos or the reviews, so we chose not to stay and booked somewhere else straight away. MakeMyTrip said the cancellation and refund could go ahead if the property agreed. When we spoke to the staff in person, they said they would approve it after MakeMyTrip contacted them and that it might take up to 24 hours. We relied on that and left for Bangalore. Later, MakeMyTrip emailed to say the property had refused both cancellation and refund. On another call, the staff changed their story, saying they couldn't refund us because it would mean a loss for them, and claiming we should have stayed while sorting it out in person. That directly contradicted what they'd told us earlier and felt dishonest. I'm attaching photos so other travelers can judge for themselves. One of my worst experiences with a property. Don't trust the Google pictures, they're very misleading.

Palolem Beach is very close, and you can easily rent a scooter, bike, or car nearby. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The grounds are small, with huts arranged around the sides, so it doesn't feel like a full-fledged resort. The in-house restaurant isn't operating at the moment, but there are plenty of good places to eat nearby.

Lucky, the owner, made the stay especially enjoyable. He's caring, cheerful, and always willing to help, and you can tell he wants guests to have a good time. Palolem beach is an easy walk away. The resort was peaceful and clean, with well-kept rooms and surroundings, and a warm, welcoming feel. I had a wonderful stay at Palolem Casa Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Palolem.

The nighttime ambience is nice, and the rooms themselves are fine. But for the price, I wasn't happy with the service. Nobody treated guests well, and the staff weren't welcoming. The food was okay, but the AC didn't cool the room properly. The bathtub was there, though it was too dirty to use comfortably. There's no room mirror apart from the bathroom one, and no cupboard or desk to keep belongings. The beach is a 5-7 minute walk, while Palolem market is nearly 20 minutes away. Local autos cost 150 rs. It might suit bachelors, but I didn't like the service for what we paid. There are plenty of other options nearby, so I'd avoid this place if possible.
