Royal Resort Rajbag

Dinner was so tasty, and breakfast was good too. The staff were quick with service, with a special thanks to Prashant and Shinoj for their hospitality. We’d love to stay again. Rajbaugh beach is just a minute away. Our room was clean and spacious, and the views from both balconies were surreal.

The room problems started with being given Standard rooms after booking Deluxe. In one, the toilet was blocked and flooded the bathroom. It was gross, though we were eventually moved. The new room had no A/C remote, and the temperature stayed at 18°C. There were no blankets, just bedsheets offered as replacements. Basic toiletries were missing too, apart from a tiny Medimix soap bar that costs 3 rupees. The towels were poor quality and shed so much lint that rubbing one on your face could make you look like Santa Claus, lol. The bathrooms were tiny, the floor near the door flooded, and the latches were so weak that someone could push the door open even when it was locked from inside. The wardrobe and safe also had locks that could be opened even when locked. It took ages just to get a menu from the hotel on the premises. They have a lot to learn about hospitality and hotel management. The place is called a resort, but it feels like a joke, not a resort. The name is confusing too: The Dream Catcher has been taken over by Feather Touch, and this place is now called Royal Resort. Check before booking. The hotel name and location on Google Maps need updating. Please be careful if booking here.

It felt very quiet and deserted around the property, perhaps because it was off-season, with hardly anyone nearby. The place itself is comfortable for resting and makes sense on a tight budget, especially if you expect to spend most of your trip out and just use the room to sleep and leave your bags. Rajbag beach is about four minutes away, and Palolem beach around twenty. There’s a restaurant downstairs, which is convenient, but it only opens for limited hours.

Pixie the dog brought plenty of fun and affection, and the food was tasty and hygienic. When my delayed flight meant I arrived late, the team still cooked fresh food for me. They were just as relaxed about my late checkout, telling me to take my time and treat the place like home. The staff really did make it feel like home. I had a wonderful time and plan to visit again in January. Cheers to the team.
