XEC Residency is neat and clean, works well for family groups, and has good car parking. Once you get there, it’s advisable to have a car or bike so you can get around to everything.

The in-house staff were good, which was the one bright spot. But there was no power backup or room service, the lift often got stuck, and reception was empty many times. There were no tea or coffee options in the room, the intercom didn’t work, and the contact number provided during booking was out of service.

Be very careful before booking a stay here in South Goa. Xec Residency is in an isolated area, with no shop or emergency facility nearby, and I don’t think it’s safe for senior citizens or children. The website gives a misleading picture of the location, amenities, and other facilities. It talks about budget-friendly rates and spacious rooms, but this is not somewhere a tourist would want to spend their hard-earned money. Local people told me that tourists have been misled this way before, and that the owner has been doing this for years. They say Xec Residency is widely distrusted and avoided in South Goa, so please decide carefully before staying.
