The setting is absolutely breathtaking. I was there at the end of April 2026, and the food was only average, though in weather like that it’s hard to care much about meals. The wooden cottage is very basic, but it’s insulated all around to protect you from the climate. The couple running it provided all the supplies we needed to get through the night, and the service was extremely good.

The family takes care of everything here, including a hot water bag at night. Electricity is available from 6 to 11 pm, and the food is simple and fresh. Blue chill cottage is in pangong, and it’s well worth the trip. The owner welcomed us with a smile and was very sweet. I’d rate it 10/10.

We stayed at Blue Chill Cottage in September 2025, and the people there were polite, kind-hearted, and amazing. Add that to a comfortable stay, good food, and clean washrooms, and that’s the best way to describe it.

We went to bed under a remarkable starry sky and even spotted the Milky Way from the property. The cottage faces east, so sunrise is worth getting up for too. It’s only a short walk to Pangong Lake, with clear views, and the location made this one of the most memorable stops on our Ladakh trip, July 24-25. Our host was warm, attentive, and helpful. Electricity runs for just a few hours in the evening, but we had what we needed, including warm water, charging points, and internet access. The clean, comfortable rooms had better facilities than we expected in such a remote place. We ate dinner and breakfast there. Both were simple, fresh, and satisfying, and breakfast was ready early so we could leave on time. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Pangong.
