Fantasia Houseboats

Mr. Majeed was a fantastic host and looked after us two tired motorcyclists with the best service we could have asked for. He also arranged a taxi for local sightseeing. We stayed for two nights during our July 2021 Motorcycle Ride to Kashmir and had a wonderful time. I’ll never forget the welcome Hit Kahwa with that beautiful view behind it. The rooms were spacious and super comfortable, and the Kashmiri food was delicious and authentic. We’d love to stay again on our next visit to Srinagar. 100% recommended.

The food service was different from other places, and I loved it. Everything was hygienic and tasty, which matters so much for our health. The Fantasia houseboat group of houseboats was a lovely place to visit, and I’d recommend everyone come once and enjoy the difference. I reached the boat by shikara after crossing nigeen lake, where the staff welcomed me warmly. Their communication skills were on another level. The bedroom had a beautiful, neatly made bed, and the furniture was designed in a heritage style. The materials in the washrooms were very expensive. I loved my visit. The cab service was provided from day one, including airport pickup and drop-off. Khurshid, our driver, was so helpful and took care of us like a brother. He showed us famous places in very little time, and we could write a whole book about him. The owner arranged our stay and scheduled visits, which made the trip memorable for life. The accommodation was affordable, cozy, had a good ambiance, and felt like home, with home food and a very humble owner. Hafeez and maajid were available anytime and took very good care of our needs. We stayed almost a week and felt at home. We plan to visit again, meet the same people, and travel in the same car with the same driver, so the trips will stay memorable.

Rahim kept his promise and made sure we got everything he’d said we would at booking. He and Anna have done a great job, and we look forward to staying at Fantasia Houseboats again. The front deck has a fantastic view, and I got some great pictures. This was a homely stay with a lovely atmosphere. The home cooked food was excellent and suited our own taste, with Rahim personally making sure we were comfortable from day one. Mansoor, our houseboat’s dedicated attendant, was always there when we needed something. Munni, the cook, was happy to make whatever we wanted, plain and simple, just the way we asked. The living and dining spaces are shared, so we got to chat with the other guests, which was refreshing. The helpful staff did everything with a smile, and Aquib, our young, energetic driver, was great company on every car trip. I gave it four stars rather than five because this is a place for a homely stay and a great experience, not five star luxury. The benefits far outweigh the costs, which were very reasonable.
