What stood out most was the GoStops team, especially Bashit. They knew the local area, were helpful and caring, and made the hostel feel like an extended family home. I’d prepared myself for little personal attention at a hostel, but every staff member made me feel at home, and they can do the same for any traveller. Although I checked in late in the evening, they served freshly made hot food in the cafeteria. As the night got colder, they also brought extra comforters, on top of the clean one and the room heater, which worked well. The pillow covers smelled a bit, so the laundry service could use improvement. I carry my own as a backpacker, which helped. I shared the feedback, and they received it well. I’m glad I picked this hostel over the other options that were supposedly better in Srinagar. I’d recommend it to travelers of all ages, with or without family.

The manager, Basit, deserves a special mention. He’s kind and welcoming, knows the local area well, and is always ready to help. He gives guests his time and has a great camaraderie, so he’s a wonderful person to talk to. I had a really good stay at goSTOPS Srinagar, and the property is well located and convenient for getting around.

Mr. Shahid is so soft-spoken and sweet, and always talks respectfully. He helps guests feel comfortable and makes it easy to socialize. People here are polite and respond to questions quickly. I loved the place and would choose this hostel again on my next visit to Kashmir.

The people were so warm and welcoming, especially Shahid, and I felt like I was with family. It also felt safe for solo travellers and women. I’ll choose this hostel again whenever I visit Kashmir.
