I stayed one night at shaneel resicency. The rooms and bathroom fittings are old, though they have been maintained. The bathroom was average, and this can't really be counted as a 3 star property. The food wasn't good. Don't book a Shikara ride through their agent, he is fraud.

Mr. Sahil, the manager, was friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Since we're from the south, he arranged curd with dinner alongside the regular dishes. Support staff Mehraj and Mansoor were helpful, especially Mehraj, who always smiled and gave us the support we needed. They also served breakfast early when we asked, so we could head out to cover places. Both breakfast and dinner were quite good, kudos to the chef. We stayed three nights at budget Hotel Shaneel Residency near Dal Lake during a visit to Srinagar at the end of May '22. There were a couple of small issues: the bathroom lock came off, but a staff member fixed it straight away, and the wifi signal in our room was weak, so I went to the lounge for a good speed. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for a day. There was no lift, so we had to climb the stairs to the 4th floor. The room was decent and spacious enough for two people, and the bathroom was clean.

It’s close to Lalchowck and the surrounding area, which made it a nice place for a weekend stay. The staff were courteous, and Manager Mr.Sahil came across as professional, polite, and easygoing.
