Houseboat Apollo Eight felt like our own home for our two couples. The staff were always smiling and ready to help, and Mr. Hilal Bhai, the owner's son, was a gentleman who took us to good tourist spots. I also appreciated that they don't cook non-vegetarian food in the boat's kitchen.

The food tasted awful, and the staff were rude and completely unsupportive. I had a very bad experience and wouldn't recommend visiting this houseboat. Syeed mansood was the worst caretaker I've encountered. His behavior was very rude, and he should be replaced.

Mr Hilal made us feel welcome from arrival through departure, and the stay at Appolo Eight houseboats was comfortable. The view over Dal lake is lovely, with calm, clear water that adds to the peaceful setting. I'd happily come back on my next trip to Srinagar. I recommend it to everyone, since I feel a Srinagar trip isn't complete without a night at Appolo Eight Houseboats.

The linens were untidy, and the food arrived cold. There were no heaters available at night, which made things REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. The hospitality was below average. This was the most pathetic experience we've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
