OYO 5056 Houseboat Batkoo

The owner's family gave me great support with everything, and my 3 year old daughter felt very comfortable with their help. I loved them, good people. The houseboat is clean, well maintained, and has very good infrastructure. They serve homely food from their home as well as hotel foods. The climate was awesome, and the houseboat structure made it easier to enjoy the climate and views. The owners gave us a special tea 🍵 that was medicinal for the cold climate. I liked it very, very much. I booked through the oyo app, but I can't review it in the app.

Faizan tried his best to look after us, and the owner, Muzzafar bhai, also helped and guided us around Srinagar. But the houseboat needs a lot of improvement, especially for winter. I stayed there from 29Dec 21-1st Jan 22 with 3 adults and 1 child. The room was quite small, making it hard for 2 adults to fit in one double bed, and the extra bed was on the floor. They use an old traditional Bukhari, which stays warm for about 2 hours or so. They don't burn it during the day, and we felt cold at night and in the morning. They gave us hot bottles to warm our legs, which helped a little. Breakfast was quite bad. For all 3 days, the only options were boiled egg, omelet, poha, or Upma, and they didn't taste good. Dinner was just okay.

A lovely quiet spot, romantic too. The family who runs it is nice, and the rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. They can also arrange trekking and sightseeing for a good price. Don't miss it if you go to Srinagar!

The scenery here is beautiful, and staying on a houseboat can really fill you with love and help you unwind from everyday life. Kashmir feels like heaven on earth, with so much natural beauty and fresh air.
