The staff were kind and helpful, and gave us good guidance for sightseeing. There’s taxi service too. We had a good experience, with tasty freshly prepared food at the hotel restaurant and a nice, spacious room with a big bed. The hotel is right in central Srinagar.

A decent budget option near Lal chowk, with heating available and rooms that are just ok. It's easy to get around from here.

The restaurant was the biggest disappointment. There wasn't much choice, and what we ordered was bland, poorly prepared, and didn't seem fresh. The waitstaff took ages and seemed uninterested, and the dining area had dirty tables and chairs. My room wasn't clean either. There were stains on the sheets and an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Check-in was slow, and the front desk staff weren't friendly or helpful. I had high hopes for Hotel Ruby, Srinagar, but the stay was a letdown, especially for a place in such a good location. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or pleasant stay in Srinagar.

Downtown shops and eateries are an easy walk away, though the hotel sits in a quiet corner. It's well maintained, neat and clean, with basic amenities. The dine-in restaurant serves good Kashmiri non-veg food. I'd recommend it, and would choose it first next time I'm in this area.
