Sameer’s clean SUV made getting around in winter more comfortable, and he was punctual, caring, and dependable. On the boat, Manzoor looked after us well and had warm, comforting meals ready on time. Our stay on Nigeen Lake was peaceful and cozy, and even one night feels worth doing when visiting Kashmir. Yaqoob from Peacock Houseboats planned our family trip between Christmas and New Year. The team kept in touch from the planning stage through the trip, and handled our requests so we had no hiccups. Yaqoob was especially responsive, either answering calls or getting back quickly. That smooth planning gave the three of us a rare chance to simply enjoy our time together. We came away feeling this was one of our best trips, and would recommend the team for a warm, dependable Kashmir trip.

The meals were a highlight, both dinner and breakfast were delicious, though there wasn't much choice on the menu. Tanvir Bhai was kind and welcoming, which made the stay even nicer. Peacock Holidays is on Nagin Lake, away from the city's bustle. The houseboat was beautifully kept, with an appealing look throughout. My wooden room felt warm and cozy, with a comfortable sofa, a king-size bed, and a clean, well-kept bathroom. It was a memorable stay, and I'd happily return. Dinner was really good, the food overall was good, and both the owner and attendant were helpful. Nigeen Lake is quieter. Vendors do come aboard, which was okay with me since it's how they make a living. I'm unsure whether the price was worth it. I saw houseboats with a similar look and feel for less later, so compare before deciding.

The boat felt roomy and was very clean, with two or three bedrooms, each with a large, comfortable bed, plus a little kitchen for simple meals. What made it feel distinctive was the riverside routine: vendors paddled right up to the boat to sell fresh produce, local dishes, and everyday things. It brought back the nostalgic feel of a traditional way of life that's hard to come across now.
