We arrived to a traditional Kashmiri dinner that was already waiting for us, and were welcomed warmly. Even before we got there, the driver had been in touch with the management to share our arrival time, so everything was well organized. The houseboat is beautiful, with carved wooden interiors and authentic Kashmiri craftsmanship throughout. Every corner carries Kashmir's heritage and elegance, and the place has a peaceful, timeless feel.

The dining area seems newly renovated, with windows along the side. There was electricity, WiFi, and tea or coffee on demand, and the staff were courteous and responsive. The rooms were cozy, clean, and warm, with plenty of blankets. The heater runs from 7 until around 11 PM, but we stayed comfortably warm. Bathrooms were neat, with modern fittings, and kept dry. The experience felt quite premium. I loved my stay and the reception at Safina Houseboat. The rooms may have been renovated since the recent low-rated reviews, because my experience was different. I'd definitely recommend a night here.

Dinner was served outside under a roof that was dripping, which made the meal uncomfortable. The dining area felt unclean and unsafe. The houseboat itself showed clear neglect. The walls were damp, the furniture was falling apart, and the overall feel wasn't welcoming. It was a disastrous stay, and not the kind of experience a traveler wants. I'd strongly urge anyone looking for comfort and a memorable stay to avoid it. The hassle and disappointment aren't worth it.
