The Grand Plaza

Only the name says 3staar, there aren’t the facilities to match. The staff is olso third class. Anybody don’t book this hotel any conditions.

The bathrooms were very dirty, and they provided used soap. Worst hotel ever, with very rude staff.

The rooms were big enough, but poorly maintained, and the staff were extremely rude. We were a group of 17, and all of us thought this was the worst place we’d ever stayed. This is not a three star hotel. After traveling for more than 24 hours, we found there were no towels in the bathrooms. We had to ask more than ten times before they gave us something as basic as towels. Hot water was available only from 6am to 7am. With the weather already so cold, a cold shower was impossible, but the front desk person refused to turn on the geyser and instead advised us about the right time to bathe. Our prepaid sims didn’t work in Kashmir, so we depended on the hotel wifi. It was only accessible in the lobby, where staff were reluctant to share the password, and they turned it off at 12am. Even when we needed the internet for urgent work, they were extremely rude. They didn’t do basic things like clean the room, clear waste, change sheets and towels, or provide drinking water and the newspaper. We had to beg for hot water to drink, and sometimes they simply said no. When I asked for toilet paper, they gave me a years-old roll with mould on it. These are only some of my personal experiences. Staying at any other hotel in Srinagar would be better.

The desk person was too rude, and the service was poor. There was no wifi in the rooms, and they didn’t provide water, saying we had to pay for a bottle. Even homestays provide free water, so that was the worst part.
