Coral Reef Resort & Spa, Havelock

The private beach was clean and peaceful, a great place to unwind and take in the island views. I also loved the poolside evenings, especially watching live cricket on the big projector. It made for a fun, lively atmosphere. I stayed three nights at Coral Reef Resort Havelock. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and ready to help, which made the stay more comfortable. I had a wonderful, relaxing time and would recommend it to people visiting Havelock Island. I’m looking forward to coming back.

There was plenty to enjoy here, including the private beech, live music, bar, restaurant, and spa. The resort is gorgeous, well maintained, and well located, with island attractions nearby and good connections. Many good restaurants are within walking distance, and the main beeches are a short drive away. Service was spectacular, and we had a lovely stay at Coral Reef. Our room did have a clogged drain and a broken shower door that weren’t fixed. They weren’t major problems for us, but they’re worth mentioning. We’ll definitely visit again.

Breakfast service summed up the attitude we encountered. When I asked for coffee, the staff member just said, “Help yourself.” The restaurant service was poor, and basic requests felt like a burden. We were traveling with an infant, and when I asked for simple kids’ food, I was told staff were busy and couldn’t prepare it, with only milk offered instead. Similar things happened more than once. That was deeply frustrating for a resort that presents itself as family friendly. A corporate event brought loud music late into the evening and disturbed the children’s sleep. Guests relaxing by the pool were also told to leave and return to their rooms because of a “private party.” Asking paying guests to give up a shared area for an event was unacceptable. Our stay at Coral Reef Havelock Island was deeply disappointing and nowhere near what I’d expect from a place claiming to be five-star. Hospitality, service, and respect for guests were extremely poor. The property should rethink calling itself a five-star resort. I’d strongly discourage families with infants from staying here.

The resort had a relaxing atmosphere, and we really enjoyed our time there. The property was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views and great amenities. The food was delicious and had lots of variety. Staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.
