The Golden Oyster Hotel

I’m giving five stars so people will read this. This hotel was super dirty and offered no service. We stayed with family from 01 to 06 Oct because we had no real choice. We later learned the owner was in New Zealand, leaving the property in the hands of the receptionist and team. The receptionist was very arrogant and treated guests like beggars, as though she were doing us a favour. Management deserves the credit for that. She asked for extra payment, but when I requested an itemized bill, she said they had no facility for one. There’s no phone to call reception, so we had to walk down every time. The rooms had no ventilation, the exhaust fans didn’t work, and water ran in the stained commode all night. There was no hot water. Bedsheets weren’t changed; if you handed them in, they’d come back washed and damp or dry, and that was your problem. Complimentary tea and water were never served. If we asked, reception said they cost extra or blamed the previous shift. The reception toilet is so awful you’ll faint on the spot. Housekeeping staff were friendly, but couldn’t do much about the problems. Go see the dirtiest hospitality for yourself.
