Summer Sands Beach Resort

We had a great time at Symphony Summer Sand Beach Resort on Neil Island. From our room, we could swim straight to the bar, spa, and restaurant, which was such a fun feature. The food was fresh and tasty, and we enjoyed the beach, pool, and spa. A must-stay if you're visiting Andaman!

The quiet, scenic setting near Ram Nagar Beach makes this a relaxed base on Neil Island. Bharatpur Beach and Natural Bridge are only a short ride away, though the nearby beach itself isn't ideal for swimming. It's one of the more premium resorts here, with lush grounds and a distinctive pool design. Some rooms open straight onto the water, which is a real highlight. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with modern interiors. The pool-access rooms are a great experience, but could use more attention to maintenance and detail. Food comes in a decent range of Indian and continental options and generally tastes good, though service can drag during busy hours. Staff are courteous, but service isn't consistent: some interactions are excellent and others are delayed. A good choice for couples or families wanting a relaxed resort stay. With better upkeep and quicker service, it could be top-tier.

The location makes it easy to rent a scooter and explore. The beach is nearby, with views at sunrise and sunset. The property is split into two sections by a road, one facing the beach and the other around the pool. We stayed on the pool side: the ground floor opens onto it, while the first floor has balconies. There were lots of birds and views of nature. Our spacious room could fit an extra bed. Staff were nice and attentive, and the food was good when ordered separately. Breakfast was average and not worth it; the sambar was spoiled when we ate, and staff attention was limited during peak time. Despite the premium fittings, the taps and flush didn't work and weren't maintained.

₹14000 for one night felt like a rip-off. This 2 star hotel charges 5 star prices, and I left after a single day feeling cheated. Don't trust the online rating; it seems likely to be fraudulent, and I don't think the hotel deserves even 3 stars. Someone built a place with spacious rooms and good decor, then let it slide. The staff were untrained and couldn't handle customers well. The food was putrid and very expensive, and the chef seemed untrained too. The pool was dirty and littered, and housekeeping wasn't up to standard. When I brought out a card to pay, reception staff almost proudly said they don't take cards. Wi-Fi was intermittent, and the staff seemed nonchalant about it. Island limitations are understandable, but their holier-than-thou attitude isn't.
