Petals Krish Grand Hotel

Our family room was a good size, and it came with four clean towels and a nice TV. The air conditioner worked well, and the room service and food were okay. A few basics were missing: there was no tea kettle, no Bisleri water included in the room package, and no small soap or shampoo bottles or pouches. There are no lifts, which is hard on exhausted pilgrims, and the TV and AC stop working when the power goes out because they aren't on the generator.

Now a full hostel under "hashtag hostels", this is a cool place with a good open Cafe and a lounge with carrom and chess. We rented a private room, and it was spacious, well maintained, and had clean linens. They also have dorms, so it works well for budget travellers. The location is convenient for getting to shivpuri and bungee roads. The person who welcomed us was great, though I've forgotten his name. There was a pool party while we were there, but we couldn't make it because we were short on time.

Mr.Raveen Rana, the Manager, was particularly helpful, though the hotel itself is fairly average. The ghat road leading to Badrinath is narrow and gets jammed with long queues of traffic on weekends. Parking is very limited, around 04-06 vehicles, so check with the hotel about a space before driving onto the ghat road, or you could add to a serious traffic jam. The rooms need substantial maintenance. The toilet water jet is awkward to use, the AC has no remote or manual controls and left us shivering even in peak summer, and the ill-fitting keys make the room locks unusually difficult to operate. Those were the main issues we noticed. For reference, Hotel to Trayambakeshwar is 7.6Km/18min by car and 1.3Km thru Neelkanth Bridge, or 1.3Km/17 min on foot thru Laxman Jhoola. Trayambakeshwar to Parmarth Aarthi is 2.3Km/11min by car. Hotel to Parmarth Aarthi is 10Km/28Min by car thru Neelkanth Bridge, or 2.4Km/30Min walking thru Ram Joola. Hotel to Triveni Ghat is 4.7Km/25min by car. Triveni Ghat to Tryam is 12Km/42Min by car thru Neelkanth Bridge, or 7.8Km/1.38hrs walking thru Ram Joola. Hotel to Laxman Joola is 1.2Km/15Min walking, and to Ram Joola is 1.8Km/23Min walking. Neelkanth Bridge is 4.3Km/1.10hrs walking or 9min by car from the hotel. For an early morning dip in the Holy River, a rugged local Auto to Triveni Ghat was comfortable. We paid ₹400 for a return trip at 0530hrs and felt it was worth it. A decent option for a budgeted trip to Rishikesh.

We needed somewhere to stay at 9 at night while travelling with my aged grandparents, and the employees kindly found room for us. The staff were so caring and looked after us really well. The rooms were very clean, and the food was great too.
