Hotel Trihari

I was exhausted after travelling all day, and even though I’d called before coming to ask about a room, they treated us terribly and ruined our trip. I’ve stayed at this hotel every time I’ve visited Rishikesh over the past 5-6 years, making at least 20-25 bookings, and I told them I was a regular. They still didn’t value that. On the night of 4 March 2026, they charged me Rs 1400 for one night. When I called before returning from Uttarkashi on 6 March, they quoted Rs 1500 and said a room was available. Once I arrived, the two people at reception suddenly asked for Rs 1700. I was shocked, especially since I’d stayed there just a day earlier for Rs 1400. They both shouted at me and one said, “Don’t you have any common sense? You’re talking about rates in front of other guests.” They were giving me the rate in front of other guests, so how was I supposed to know I should stay quiet? They could have politely asked me to wait before telling me the price. I would have understood. After all my repeat visits, being spoken to this way was shocking.

The rooms looked very unclean, and the TV wasn’t working. There was no room service either. Although the hotel may look good from outside, the staff were just as rude and unprofessional as the place was disappointing. I got so frustrated that I checked out that same day, 18 February 2026. It was a terrible stay.

We booked a family room for our holiday, and it was tidy with plenty of space. The hotel is right on the main road, close to attractions, including Janki Bridge and Ram Jhula, about 1 km away. There’s also a restaurant in the hotel, and we liked the food.

The only reasons we stayed one night were the main road location and parking. Everything else was a mess, and I’d never recommend it. The mattress had springs sticking out, so sleeping was almost impossible. The toilet seat was broken, the room wasn’t clean, and when water spilled on the floor, staff handed me a wiper and told me to clean it myself. They charged standard rates but didn’t provide basic amenities. The TV wasn’t recharged, despite their claim that it worked, and they made excuses about a broken line when I asked. Staff were rude and unprofessional. We asked to change rooms because we were considering extending our stay, but they refused without a proper reason. When we chose to check out early, they arrogantly told us to do it immediately, before checkout time. The place felt badly managed, with poor amenities and no hospitality. It wasn’t worth even one day.
