We ran our Women's Wellness Retreat at the Goat Village, and the setting was beautiful. Even after arriving in the middle of a hailstorm and having to hike up to the property, the staff helped guide us. They grow their own greens in the centre of the glasshouse, and the food tasted so much better for it. We managed our sessions and activities without trouble, and the place really holds on to its eco-village feel. The main challenge for a longer visit is that there’s barely any network. There’s only one plug point in the rooms, which I understand may be due to the electricity situation up there. But with no wifi or geyser, planning a long stay is difficult, especially in peak winter. Hand towels and toiletries in the washrooms would also help, along with a few small hospitality improvements. Still, it was a beautiful experience.
