Raj Residency Hotel

I chose a non-AC room, and the only thing I ended up doing was killing mosquitoes. There was no ventilation, no wash basin, no mirror in the room or washroom, and nowhere to put luggage. The TV didn’t work either. This may be the worst room I’ve ever checked into at a hotel, motel, or lodge. There’s a lot they need to fix, and I’d never stay here again.

The bathroom was tiny, the sheets weren't clean, and the curtains smelled and looked dirty. We spent two nights here, and the staff were no help at all. The manager had no sense of what to say or when to say it. A horrible stay for the money. If you need somewhere in this area, there are other options.

The location is convenient if you're travelling through central areas, between bhiwandi and thane, toward mumbai or Mumbra. The building looks quite grand from outside and has plenty of rooms. There was a decent city view, and, although the staff were rude, they did respond to my requests. They also extended checkout from 11 to 11.40 pm when I asked, which was generous. The stay itself was a mess. Before arriving, I called about my booking and was told they had stopped taking goibibo bookings. I'd already paid, so I had to complain to goibibo. When I got there, the power was out. The reception area was hot and smelled bad, and the two people at the counter gave me conflicting answers about whether a room was available. The lift wasn't working, so I had to walk up four floors. The room wasn't clean. There were hair strands around, dust on the shelf and TV, a smelly bedsheet, and condom packets in the bin. I was already tired from travelling, then had to spend about 30 minutes asking for a full clean while sweating in the heat. The washroom, including the WC and washbasin, was dirty with a yellow layer around it. The paint was peeling in several places, too. Of the room amenities listed in the app, only about half were provided, with no chair or table. I asked twice for my ID cards back and ended up going to collect them myself in the evening. The AC wasn't working during the outage, which I understood, and they said it would work normally when power returned. Even then, I had to keep it at 16 degrees to feel any cooling. I paid 1900 rs and didn't feel the place was worth it. It's a budget property, but others in thane are around 2500. Personally, I won't book again unless its rating gets to around 3. I'd rather pay 700 extra for a better place nearby. Up to you.

They ask you to pay in advance for all the days you plan to stay, and you have to pay right away whenever you order anything, even water, food, or tea. They keep taking payment upfront each time. The people are polite and gentle, though. The rooms themselves smell bad, and the bedsheets are dirty.
