Treebo Premium La Orchid

The La Orchid is lovely, though its name is a bit misleading, and it's at least 5 km from the Big temple, closer to the medical college side of town. The new bus stand is about a ₹100 auto rickshaw ride away. I checked in late in the evening and was welcomed warmly. The room was clean and airy, with central air conditioning that helped with the early summer heat. The bed and mattress were comfortable, and the furniture was ergonomic. I liked the unusual little semi-sofa seat for watching TV with coffee, along with the laptop work table. There was a coffee maker and coffee powder, and the coffee bag made a flavorful cup. The bathroom was small, but laid out efficiently. The door nearly touched the closet. Toiletries were supplied, the water ran well, and the motion-sensing light was top class. I'd stay again.

Breakfast was late, and there were no towels in the room. I had to call several times, then finally go and collect one myself. There was no A/C, and the customer service was awful. The receptionist was rude when I tried to complain. La Orchid Hotel Thanjavur is out. Please don't book here next time.

The room was roomy, but it wasn't maintained well. Breakfast came with the room rate, though it was very average and didn't even include basics like bread. They made dosa when we asked. This wasn't the kind of stay I'd expect from a Treebo hotel.

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was very limited, with no cut fruit, dosa, or bread. There were only a few items, and the taste wasn't up to standard. We stayed from 17.01.25 to 18.01.25, after Pongal. Around 9 pm on Saturday, the attached restaurant was full and gave no priority to hotel guests. They also couldn't serve food to our room, so we had to look through delivery apps for dinner from another restaurant. I had to rush around for food with my already hungry child. A horrible experience. Families should avoid this hotel. There are better options at this price.
