Taj Theog Resort & Spa, Shimla

The staff were courteous and friendly, and the property had a warm, calming feel. We booked one night with all meals included for our anniversary, and they surprised us with a beautifully decorated room and a cake. From the Himachali cap and tikka welcome to the smooth check-in, everything was thoughtfully arranged. The food was delicious. With snowfall across the region, the staff proactively helped us find the safest routes before we arrived and again at checkout. A lovely, peaceful getaway for a special occasion. We’d love to return.

The rooms stayed comfortable and warm through the cold winter, and the facilities and amenities were well maintained. The staff made the stay, with courteous, quick help throughout. Ankit & Anshula at the front desk made check-in and checkout smooth and warm, Devesh at concierge helped with local tips and arrangements, and Prithi in the dining area looked after us at every meal. We stayed one night with family, and it felt too short. The setting in Theog is peaceful, away from the Shimla crowd, with lovely views of pine forests and the Himalayas. Our room was spacious, clean, and warm, which mattered in the evening. Food was very good across the board. We had lunch at Tragopan and tried the breakfast buffet. A brilliant hotel for a quiet luxury break near Shimla, especially for families.

Balwant made my wife’s birthday dinner unforgettable. He arranged a private table, made the evening feel personal, and surprised us with a cake-cutting at the table. Ms. Thadong, Mr. Deepak, and Mr. Ashok were also kind, attentive, and courteous, and the restaurant staff made dining special. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. From the moment we arrived, the whole team gave us warm hospitality and made the stay easy and enjoyable. We left feeling celebrated, grateful, and completely satisfied. Highly recommend this hotel for great food and thoughtful service.
