Hotel Ganesh by OYO Rooms

Service was pathetic. There wasn’t even regular staff to help with check-in or checkout, so you have to carry your own bags. Basic things like towels and soap weren’t provided upfront; you have to ask, which is ridiculous. I asked for a blanket and still didn’t get one. I even had to go all the way to reception for water bottles.

The rooms were clean and neat. For a two-star hotel, I thought the price was worth it.

We booked through Oyo, but when we got there they charged much more than the Oyo rate, saying that an Oyo booking didn’t mean we’d get a room. With no other option at the time, we paid anyway. The room stank, and the AC didn’t cool even at 16°C. They don’t give you the AC remote. The bathroom was awful too: whenever you turned on the wash basin tap, wastewater from the ove flowed back onto the floor. The area is a bit remote, with no shops nearby, and there’s no lift, so we had to climb three floors. Don’t trust the good ratings here, they seem fake. Better to choose another hotel.

I arrived late in the evening, when hotels were almost full, and ended up staying one night. The room was so dirty and dusty everywhere that I felt I might get sick. The receptionist was very rude and didn’t provide even basic amenities. I checked out the next day and moved to a better hotel. They need to make considerable improvements to their attitude and cleanliness before I’d recommend the place to anyone, human or animal.
