Hotel Silver Sand

I’d read comments about the AC and heater not working, and noise from trains at the back, but none of that happened in my room. Maybe the rooms on the other side get the train noise. My room was comfortable and exceptional, and the service was very good. Thank you, Silver Sand.

The food quality wasn’t what we expected, and the service was poor. We changed our minds from ayala fry to natholi fry seconds after placing the order, but the waiter said it was already entered in the cant computer and couldn’t be changed because they’d started frying ayla. Oddly, the dish arrived within five minutes, with only the outside of the Ayala hot. Be careful.

The chicken biryani was especially good, and the food overall was the best we’ve tasted in Trivandrum. The quality, taste, and prices deserve praise. But the staff made us uncomfortable. A woman and a senior staff member with spectacles, who was taking orders, were rude and kept telling us where to sit. Then, even after we called him several times, he didn’t come take our order. He seemed angry, and the woman shouted at the boy for seating us there. Please look into this, because that behavior hurts the reputation of an otherwise well-regarded restaurant.

The food was worth what we paid, especially breakfast, and fortunately the biriyani was good too. But service overall was very poor, and cleanliness was the worst part. There were cigarette remnants on the bathroom floor, and the closet seats were so dirty we didn’t feel like using them. Of the four rooms we saw, three had fan regulators that didn’t work properly. If price is your only concern, go for it. Otherwise, please don’t.
