Lagoona Beach Resort

The sea view is gorgeous, and the resort has plenty of parking for the vehicles it gets. It’s in a fairly secluded spot, with the beach right next door and a good restaurant serving really tasty food. The pool is small but kept in good condition. You can also take a wooden boat up and down the lagoon alongside the resort.

The resort was completely empty during our three-night stay, so breakfast, which came with our package, was served à la carte instead of as a buffet. There were only four of us. The manager did his best to serve us well, though. Also, Ease my Trip charged us 10k more for an empty property than the amount quoted earlier, and I still don’t understand why. I wouldn’t book through them. As for Lagoona Beach Resort, it’s an average place. The food and staff were okay, and the setting was peaceful, but reaching it takes you a bit into the interior. The hotel provides a boat to get to the beach, a 3-4 minute ride through a little canal they call Kill river. The beach was extremely dirty, with plastic and other rubbish at the shore. Birds, including crows, were eating little fish trapped in the plastic. The sea itself was beautiful, and sunrise and sunset were nice. All in all, an average experience for us.

For what it cost, I expected better food and service. The dishes lacked freshness and flavor, and none stood out. Staff seemed untrained and unsure of what they were meant to do. Even simple requests took ages, with little coordination. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves both the food and staff training.

Breakfast was the weak point: the buffet choices were limited, and the taste didn’t live up to expectations for such a lovely property. The rest of Lagoona Beach Resort was beautiful and peaceful, with lots of greenery, dozens of coconut trees, pet birds and fish. The pool adds to the charm, and it’s a very photogenic place. Our clean, comfortable room was well maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful. Service overall was good.
